Here’s a list of my Spring and Summer public shows for 2008. Many of them are free - so do come along!

Saturday 3 May: York Fiesta, St Sampson’s Square, York. Archbishop of York’s Junior School perform my (mini-)musical: Compost!

Sunday 25 & Monday 26 May: Buzzing! at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate. Two half-hour shows as part of their ‘Wildlife in the Garden’ week. With live music by John Rayson. If you enjoy the first show, come along to the second, as we’ll be introducing you to a whole new set of minibeasts!
These shows are supported by the Royal Entomological Society Lesley Goodman Award.
Times: 12 noon, and 2pm.

Thursday 29 May: West Bank Park, York. Schools Out performance of my (mini-)musical: ‘Compost!’. email me (info@theBigBuzz.biz) if you’re between 7 and 11 and you’d like to take part in the workshops to learn the musical (on the mornings of Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May).
Time: Noon.

Saturday 21 June: Copmanthorpe Primary School, York. Two half-hour shows as part of the school’s Environment Fair. If you enjoy the first show, come along to the second, as I’ll be introducing you to a whole new set of minibeasts!

Wednesday 25 June: A National Insect Week Buzzing! at York Cemetery. With live moth trapping by Dr Dave Chesmore, Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society. And Buzzing! assistance from Adrian Lovett. The show includes never-before-performed Buzzing! moth poems!
This show is supported by the Royal Entomological Society Lesley Goodman Award.
Entry: Adults £2.50; Children £1. Proceeds to the Friends of York Cemetery.

Saturday 28 June: A National Insect Week Buzzing! at York Environment Centre (St Nicholas Fields). Bring your camera, because after the show I’ll be giving you some top tips on taking minibeast photos, and then we’ll go on a minibeast hunt to see what photos we can take!

Wednesday 23 July: A special ‘Buzzing! by the River’ at the Merchant Adventurers Hall, York. Includes the world premiere of new poems written specially for the event. Part of York Festival of the Rivers. With live music by John Rayson.

Friday 15 August: Buzzing! at RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate. Two half-hour shows as part of their ‘Family Fortnight’. With live music by John Rayson. The first show will be for 3 to 7-year-olds, the second for 7 to 11-year-olds.
Times: 12 noon, and 2pm.
Saturday 16 August: Come along to Helmsley Green Day at Helmsley Walled Garden and learn ‘Compost! The (Mini-)Musical’, then perform it to the assembled crowds! Find out about all the other activities and stalls at: www.helmsleygreenday.org.uk/

Monday 25 August: Buzzing! at Seven Stories in Newcastle. Seven Stories is the Centre for Children’s Books, ‘where our rich heritage of British children’s books is collected, explored and celebrated’. With live music by John Rayson.

Wednesday 27 August: Buzzing! in the Museum Gardens, York. Part of the Yorkshire Museum’s Mini-Beast Wild Wednesday. With live music by John Rayson.

Wednesday 17 September: A full hour-long Buzzing! show at the Howden Festival in East Yorkshire. With live music by John Rayson, and Buzzing! assistance from Adrian Lovett.
