Compost! is a fun musical for children and/or adults, teaching them and their audiences how to make compost, and why it’s so important to compost our waste.

Compost! is written by Anneliese Emmans Dean. Anneliese has worked closely with her local composting champions, York Rotters, to ensure that the information it contains is accurate.
The mini-mini version of Compost! can be learnt in as little as 30 minutes - great for ‘from scratch’ performances at e.g. festivals.
Compost! can also be learnt over a longer time scale, incorporating more songs and spoken parts, more related activities and more background information about composting. Anneliese can come to where you are and teach Compost! in half a day, or you can teach it over the course of a whole term - as you prefer.

If you learn Compost! in a school, the children then become the ambassadors for composting in your school, with a show they can perform to the rest of the school, to parents, and in the community.
Primary (KS2) and secondary school/adult versions available.
Compost! meets the following Every Child Matters outcomes:
- ‘Enjoy and Achieve’
- ‘Making a Positive Contribution’.
There are two options for putting on Compost! The (mini-)Musical where you are:
